OECD recently published a report entitled "Measuring Deployment of IPv6". This eagerly-awaited report had the benefit of receiving input from a large number of contributors (operators/ISPs, content providers, DNS operators, etc.).
The "Measuring Deployment of IPv6" report defines the metrics and methods used by the different IPv6 contributors, while presenting and taking a critical look at the results.
AFNIC is fortunate enough to have contributed to the report by providing data collected by its DNSwitness software launched in November 2008.
This platform, featuring DNS-based active and passive measurements, helped illustrate the evolution of IPv6 deployment over the year, by observing .fr domain names and DNS queries received by an .fr authoritative name server.
